Our River Kayaking courses train paddlers to safely navigate Class I-III rapids, focusing on more advanced strokes, solid rescue skills (like self-rescue, swimmer/boat recovery), river reading (identifying features, hazards), and basic guiding/leadership, aiming for confident enjoyment and competence in moving water environments. It builds on our Intro to Kayaking course, emphasizing practical application and decision-making for enjoyable, safe trips.

• Safety & Rescue: Proactive prevention, swift self-rescue, assisting others (swimmers, gear), and managing hazards.

• Strokes & Maneuvers: Refining flatwater skills (draws, braces, sweeps) and applying them on moving water for precise control (e.g., ferry angles, eddy turns).

• River Reading: Understanding water features (eddies, waves, holes) and planning routes through Class I-III rapids.

• Group Management: Basic leadership and awareness for group cohesion on the water.
